MAKING THE CONNECTION was specially written for the first 'New Voices' series at the Celtic Connections Festival, premiered in 1998 with a second performance in 2000. Corrina has rewritten it for two harps (Corrina Hewat and Mary Macmaster) two voices (Inge Thomson and Mairi Campbell) pipes (Lorne MacDougall) and percussion (Donald Hay) plus the inimitable Mr McFall’s Chamber (Lise Aferiat and Robert McFall violins, Brian Schiele viola, Su-a Lee cello and Rick Standley double bass). The Edinburgh International Harp Festival is delighted to give audiences a rare third opportunity to hear this exciting piece.

MAGGIE MacINNES TRIO
Maggie will sing Gaelic songs many of which have been in her family for generations as well as one or two favourite Scots songs.

“Maggie performs these great and rare songs with an emotion and an intimacy that can only come from her in–the-blood proximity to these songs in their original domestic rather than concert hall setting. – The Trio of Maggie singing and playing clarsach, Brian McAlpine on keyboards and accordion and Anna Massie on guitar, generates a subtle yet emphatic pallet of accompaniment at times sparse, at others gently swinging with lilting syncopations and then rapid fire reeling.”
