On behalf of Commun na Clarsaich and its Harp Festival Committee, welcome to our eclectic 27th Programme.

Along with a variety of harp tuition you will find courses and workshops, which encompass Gaelic, Scandinavian and Jewish song; Breton and Ceilidh dance as well as “come and try” sessions in melodeon, bamboo pipes and the Queen Mary Harp. There’s poetry and story telling sourced from Scottish, Siberian and Norwegian folk tales, the chance to explore advances in electro acoustic sounds, to relish the jazz from NY City or to absorb our traditional Scottish and Irish tunes and airs.

This year’s concerts continue to cater for a wide range of tastes and we have not been afraid to flaunt convention. Sunday evening’s performance is an ambitious project showcasing collaboration between world famous harpist, Isabelle Moretti, the prestigious Edinburgh Quartet and trombone player, John Kenny.

We thank everyone who helps make this a successful annual event. The Festival is wonderfully supported by the presence of our friends from the Harp Making world and by the generosity of the Sponsors listed below.

I promise you a great harping experience!

Hon Sec of the Clarsach Society
