Venue Information and Access

As Merchiston is an old school, it is not fully adapted at this time. Since we want to be as inclusive as possible, please call the box office (+44 (0)131 554 0212) when booking to discuss your accessibility requirements. We will take whatever steps we can to ensure your enjoyment of the Festival.

There are steps to the Festival hub (reception) and the cafeteria in the main building. A ramp can be arranged to access these areas.

We very much regret that at this time we cannot get heavy electric wheelchairs up to the Memorial Hall.

If you are able to use a stair-lift, there is one which is accessed from the left side of the main building, next to the cafeteria. Please let us know if you wish to use it.

Accessible toilets are located by the cafeteria in the main building.

There is a ramp available as there are steps to get into the building.

Accessible toilets are also available in the adjacent Mappa Mundi and Robertson buildings. Both buildings are locked at the close of the Harpmakers’ Exhibition each day at 5:30/6:00pm. If you require access after this time, please speak to a member of our stewarding team.

For more details or assistance accessing other areas of the campus, please contact us  on +44 (0) 131 554 0212.

Accessible accommodation is available on campus – please see accommodation at Merchiston for booking details.
