ELINOR EVANS

Ellie will trace how the clarsach has developed over the years, playing pieces dating back to the early days of the instrument, through its resurgence in the twentieth century and on to the present day. Performing her own arrangements of traditional material and compositions, she will weave varying styles of music from different eras into a beautiful and entertaining tapestry of music.

Festival students join with Edinburgh based ensemble Na Clàrsairean to form our Festival

Orchestra. Along with Drake musician Rhona Smith and harpist Stephanie Humphreys they will perform a specially composed and arranged suite. The Suite, inspired by the beautiful City of Edinburgh and its history, has been created by Rhona and Stephanie in collaboration with Isobel Mieras and Rosemary McKerchar.
