Margaret Stewart

Margaret Stewart from the Isle of Lewis is considered to be one of Gaeldom’s finest singers and tradition bearers. A native Gaelic speaker and Mod Gold Medallist, with an impressive repertoire of songs, she is highly respected as a performer and teacher. Voted Gaelic Singer of the Year in 2008 and inducted into the Trad Music Hall of Fame in 2020, Margaret has performed far and wide, and has undertaken much collaborative work with other singers and musicians, particularly harpist Ingrid Henderson and piper Allan MacDonald. She has three studio albums to her name and is currently undertaking a PhD research project at Glasgow University.
