Rhona is a digital harp player using a system of physical switches and music software. She first played in 1988 in Drake Music Scotland workshop and knew she had found her instrument: the harp. Her love of the harp was confirmed when she met Catriona McKay in Shetland. Watching her play was an inspiration for Rhona and then Pete Sparkes of DMS introduced her to harpist Amy Moar and they formed the traditional band, Equilibrium. Since then she has continually developed her instrument, collaborating with other instrumentalists and becoming a founding member of the Digital Orchestra at Drake Music Scotland.
Rhona is a skilled and innovative musician working with Drake Music Scotland.Inspired by performers such as Catriona McKay, she found her particular love was the sound of the harp. With Ali Gillies, her musical support, she will tell us about her journey as a musician with a disability.
