Tom is one of the leading folk harp players in Germany. He is a regular performer at both Folk Festivals and Early Music events. After studying classical guitar and piano at Cologne Conservatory, he spent two years at Edinburgh University taking a Master’s degree in Scottish Traditional Music and Ethnomusicology. He has released many CDs of his music with a wide range of bands and ensembles and is a music journalist broadcasting on Traditional Folk and World Music.
Saher Issa is a young Kurdish singer and saz-player who grew up in the musical tradition of Maqam, i.e. the classical tonal system of oriental music.
Azad Shawaysi comes from a Kurdish community in West Iran. He is a virtuoso on the santur (hammered dulcimer) and plays both Kurdish and Persian folk music.
